A Girl's Bestfriend! 5/18

Author's Note: We were asked to make a list of 3 true things about us and 1 fiction thing about us. Once those 4 things were recorded, we were then directed to write about them at a high level in order to confuse our peers on whether or not our story was true. This was a difficult task for me to accomplish, but once my juices were flowing I got right on track, ENJOY!(:

How many times have you and your best friend fought? Not talked for a couple days? Weeks even. Maybe you totally kicked them out of your life. How does that feel to lose a friend? Fortunately, I wouldn’t know, because my best friend is someone who never leaves My side, literally. This companion of mine fetches balls, loves to get her butt scratched, and is the cutest cuddle-bug ever. Having my dog as my greatest friend has been the best choice of my life. Especially when it comes to secrets. If you tell one of your friends this huge secret, knowing the middle school life-- it’ll be around the whole school in what.? Like 1 day.? Maybe even just first or second hour, when I have something that I just can’t hold it in anymore, the one and only “person” that I trust is my spazzy little companion, hunch-a-bunch. Another reason as to why my dog is my most prized acquaintance, is because when I’m sad and about ready to cry, she not only knows that I am sad, but she also tries to cheer me up. I should necessarily say “tries” because she basically succeeds 100% of the time. If I’m lonely and I need a buddy to play with she’s always willing to go outside and keep me company as I practice volleyball. All I’m trying conclude out of this creative writing piece is that, a dog is not only a man’s best friend; but also a girls best friend!

Spectacular Summer Schedule! 5/14

Author's Note: I absolutely cannot wait until summer, it gives me a break with all the drama. Plus, I can sleep as late as I want and I can do anything I want. These are my plans to acomplish the best summer ever!
There’s 104 of summer vacation ‘til school comes along just to end it. So my annual plan for this summer vacation is to have a great time while spending it! Like maybe, hanging with friends, and skating at skateland, and biking down to the beach. Exercising, and practicing volleyball and slipping down a bunch of slides. Going to Six Flags, and possibly Wilderness, and doing the library program. Well, back to the point, I plan on this being the best summer ever because this hasn’t really been the best school year ever, I mean I love school, just things that went on just didn’t really float my boat. But anyway, I seriously am planning on taking part in all the things I have just mentioned. I’m gonna have so much fun and forget about all the drama and crap that went on during school and in my life this year and just let my hair down and just hang loose and have fun. I hope I can hang out with every single one of my friends at least once. I’ll have them over, and go over to their house. Or even possibly-- I could meet them down at the beach or skateland or any other place! This (Hopefully) will be the best summer ever!<3

What a Wonderful Weekend 5/11

Well, I could sleep for like, ever! Geez, this was quite a busy weekend. See, on Friday. when I got home, I started my homework because of the fact that I had a busy weekend following. But since I got caught up in the social networking and life of Facebook, I am now just finishing my homework, at yes 10 to 10 or for all you people out there who cannot, for some odd reason, tell time-- 9:50. So back to the point, after all the tweeting and status updates and stalkings of pictures of my friends and their friends, I take part in my horrendously busy weekend. to start, I braided my hair since the morning would be quite early for me. i mean I have to wake up at 6:30 for a field trip for school. What are we!? In the military! Ugh! Well, at least the early awakening was totally worth it! Because we got to go to Great America for our music festival for band and choir. We first departed from school at around 8:30 a.m., but I had to be there at 7:30 since my mom was chaperoning. anyways once we headed down south to Illinois we arrived at Gurnee Middle School, or something like that and warmed up for our performance for band. We played in front of a judge and about 3 other school that were taking part in this competition for music. Once our performance was finished all the students who were in both band and choir had to rush through this unknown school to arrive on time to warm up for the choir performance. we partially warmed up and then again headed out to be judge. once all the performances for us were completed we had to wait probably the 4 or so most boring hours of my life. sitting in a cafeteria of a school in which we were not even in the same state of. I made my way through my friends and took part in their little charades and conversations. as soon as the high schools performances had ended we boarded the bus to arrive to the best field trip our school has ever had and possibly will have. I could go into drastic detail about what went on but I think I will just skip to the award ceremony and save you the dreaded description of an hour and a half wait in line for the superman. once we got to the award ceremony we wait to hear our name announced in the categories that we would be judged in. once the choir category came up all of our school conversations hushed to what seemed to be an awkward silence as we wait to hear our name announce. That silence was worth the awkwardness because.... WE TOOK FIRST PLACE BABY! Ohh yess! Once the award ceremony had come to an end, we headed back to the adventure, the rides! I went on The Whizzer, Superman, Demon, Teacups, Riverboat, and a few others. Considering the fact that almost a whole page and a half has taken up just by my Saturday, I think I’ll tell you just one more little detail. about my sickening adventure on one of the greatest roller coasters ever. THE DEMON! M'kay, so I was super afraid to go on this roller coaster because it involves loopty-loops. But once I got through one round of it, I didn’t wanna stop! OhMyGod it was like heaven! So anyways, on to Sunday! I woke up after an 11 hour sleep! Thank the lord! Since I woke up so late, and I was super duper lazy, I missed a day of confirmation. once I actually had the energy to shuffle out of my bed, I get in the shower, rejuvenate myself, and complete all other tasks in order to get ready for mother’s day at my aunts we headed up to my aunts for an afternoon of family reunions, hilarious stories, awesome play time with the little cousins, adorable pictures take with my cousin chase, and the most delicious food. Since this is sort of last minute I am gonna shorten my Sunday happenings. If you would like to hear more about my exciting, yet tiring weekend, go ahead and ask me in person. kthxbi!

Music Make Me Merry 05/10

Author's Note: We chose this topic, because we all love music and it connects to us in many ways. I personally love music, I listen to it while I take a shower, while doing homework, and while I'm at school. It just is a place where I can be myself. I just... don't know what I would do without music... )':

I couldn’t live without music! It helps me through sad, happy, confuzzled, and just play old rough times. If there were no such thing as music I think I would probably die. My top ten songs that get me through all my emotions are probably the happiest songs I’ve ever heard. the first song that gets me through my tough times is boyfriend by Justin Bieber. I absolutely love this song because it has a great beat to it, and Justin Bieber is the hottest, sexiest man beast that walks the earth. Anyhow, My second Song would have to be Starships because it’s a fun song to dance to and I love to dance! It makes me so happy! The third one on my list would have to be young, wild, and free because it’s so fun to sing to. The fourth song would have to be sexy and I know it. Although it’s “old” it’s still such an odd yet happy song. By the way DON’T WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO! I’M WARNING YOU! The fifth song would be rack city because of its fast paced rhythm that gives a sort of happy vibe from it. the sixth song would have to be international love, because, again of the fact that it’s fun to sing to. The seventh would have to be call me maybe because of the memories I have of it with one of my best friends. Anyhow, the eighth song would have to  be footloose, because it’s a fun song, and I’m singing it in choir too! The Ninth song would have to be the motto because it’s lyrics are so fun! the tenth and final song would have to be the campfire song song because it’s so stupid, random, and Spongebob-by! All these songs have sentimental value to me because I can connect to them One Way or Another. (Tee Hee)

Pet Peeves Personally Pester Me 05/09

Author's Note: We chose this topic because all of  us could have gone on and on and on and on about this topic for like ever! So I chose to write just about my number one pet peeve to shorten it up a bit even though it's not very short. :/ Anyway, enjoy!(:

Ugh! You know what annoys me!? Copycats! Ugh they are so unoriginal! I mean, serious! “Be yourself, everyone else is taken!" Is a quote I fully support. I hate being copied because I feel unoriginal and stolen. I have my own interests, my own music, my own style, my own dialect, and when people take it from me I feel owned. Like I can’t be me. Like anything I do will be instantly taken. Like I’m not my own person anymore. Like I’m a twin. And that just kills because i love to be me. One of the songs that corresponds with this topic is “Only You Can Be You” my favorite verse from this song is “Only you can be you, and only I can be me, be happy with what you got.” It’s trying to say, don’t try to be someone you’re not, be you and don’t try to impress people by lying about stuff, be happy with what you got. If anyone who reads this feels like it’s pointed towards you, its not, this is just one of my biggest pet peeves. But if you are someone reading this, and you do some of these things, please stop because I’m sure it bugs other people, too. kthxbi!! Case closed!(:

Should We Drill For Oil in Alaska?

Author’s Note: There has been a huge dispute going on for the past 22 years about a huge topic: whether or not the U.S. should drill for oil. In social studies we have been working on our DBQ, which stands for Document Based Questioning, and I wanted to turn that into an essay to get a grade for it in Language Arts. I spent hours of researching and I finally finished with a strong statement of why I don’t think we should drill for oil, and here’s why...

“If all 50 states governments introduced a law to establish ethanol producing plants, and then mandated blended fuel, would this eventually stabilize the cost of energy and reduce our dependence on overseas oil?” These were few questions asked by R.L., -- Springfield, MA, which connects to the issue of whether or not the US should drill for oil in Alaska. There have been many years of debates concerning whether or not drilling for Alaskan oil is a good idea or bad. A ban had been started and it has lasted 22 years; the most recent debate about it lasted two days. My perspective on this dilemma is that the U.S. shouldn’t drill for oil in Alaska because it could drastically affect the environment, the economy, and because of the limited amount of help it’ll give the U.S.

First off, drilling for oil in the ANWR will disturb the environment because it potentially could ruin the fresh air animals habitat, and clean environment. While drilling for oil all the fumes and waste from the machines would send pollutants into the air. This not only affects the citizens of Alaska, but also the animals, which begins my next point. The animals wouldn’t just be affected by the obnoxious fumes let off by the machinery, but also their shelter would be destroyed when drilling underground. Additionally, the area they are planning on drilling in, according to ANWR’s research about “Arctic Power - Arctic National Wildlife Refuge,” is one of the only designated areas left for the wildlife to roam free in. If the government decides to allow drilling in this specific area, many Alaskans’ food source would be destroyed, and as a result they could possibly starve to death. While the fumes and the animal’s shelter being demolished would possibly send the innocent critters into extinction, the effects on the plants, the animals highest food source, would be a major component to the many species possibly dying off. The most frequent way in which the plants can be killed is through the unsanitary environment. With that said, if the environment is ruined it won’t just affect the air, but also living, breathing creatures.

Secondly, if such simple things as plants were affected imagine how intensely the economy would be changed. According to MSNBC’s article "Would Drilling More Alaskan Oil Cut Prices?" the volume of so-called recoverable oil in Alaska that is left comes to about 10.4 billion barrels. In order to receive even the littlest bit of that, we would have to pay at least some money. The U.S. is in so much debt-- why would we need to be even deeper? Deciding to drill for oil in Alaska would just add to the money we owe. Besides, by the time we would decide to begin producing oil, there would be yet another 7- 12, years to wait for the oil to produce. This point was stated by, once again, MSNBC’s article, "Would Drilling More Alaskan Oil Cut Prices?" By the time the production would be done and over with, we could have found another cheaper source and possibly do less damage than what could potentially happen in Alaska. Although there are some positives to using oil from the ANWR, such as expanding the market for gas sales, we could possibly send the takers of our oil into debt because of transportation costs. According to Document C, the amount of oil that would be supplied for us would last about 6 months, and although the use of that oil could lower our gas prices-- they’d shoot right back up once we ran out of Alaskan Oil. Bottom line, the economy would more than likely be affected if we finalized the agreement for lifting the ban.

Lastly, the last point for my disagreement to search for oil in Alaska is how useless it would be for the U.S. I mean, we are so in debt of oil, there’s no point in trying to increase production. The demand for oil is so high, and the chances of actually finding recoverable oil are slim to none. Plus, It will only reduce US oil imports by 4%. Yet another point from MSNBC’s article "Would Drilling More Alaskan Oil Cut Prices?" states that there’s only a 95% chance that 9.5 billion barrels are recoverable and a 5% chance there might be 16 billion barrels recoverable with a span of land and 3 mile limit off shore. Like I said before, this limited supply would last for only about 6 months. I personally believe that the only reason we are considering doing this is to try to make up for all the lost oil, which, quite frankly, won’t happen because we are so far behind on keeping up with equaling out the difference between productions, there’s no way in any one's right mind who thinks that we will ever be able to make up for our lost productions.

The drastic effect it could have on the environment, the economy, and because of the limited help it’ll give the U.S. is why my perspective of this dilemma is that the U.S. shouldn’t drill for oil in Alaska. I honestly do believe there are positives to drill for oil in Alaska, but I disagree that we should drill for oil in the Alaska. Seriously, just think of all the harmful effects that drilling for oil in Alaska could potentially cause.

A Superb Series

Author's Note: For this essay I but myself up for a challenge-- write about a book per paragraph in the series and a component that goes along the lines of a literary analysis. I think I did a pretty darn good job, so please leave a comment to let me know what you think! Enjoy!

Adventurous. Attention Capturing. Heart Racing. These three words are but a few that notably contribute to the characteristics of the Hunger Games series by Susan Collins. This series is made up of three books including The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay.  Such books help us wonder what life would be like if it was based around supporting our families, knowing how to survive, and having the luck of the draw. With these books you’ll know what that feels like because of the eminent plot line, author's description, and distinguished flow from book to book.

“And may the odds be ever in your favor”-- one of many quotes that helps further understand the plot of this exquisite book, The Hunger Games. Susan Collin’s description in this particular book, really helps to specify what is occurring in that scene. Including examples ranging from where the main character, Katniss, and her family lives, to the threatening animals that roam in the forbidden woods just outside of their district-- this author’s description is sure to blow your mind. Where she lives and the deadly animals that wonder her dangerous forest aren’t the only things that get described with this stunning detail, there are loads of other examples that hold exemplary description. All in all, this book truly does include astonishing components.

As for the second book, Catching Fire,  it too holds high-end detail along with a touch of a flabbergasting plot line. Catching Fire’s plot is not only a thrilling tale, it also has great morals. One of the many morals is along the lines of “be prepared for the unexpected.” If you expect everything to go how you planned it your life will be full of unpleasant surprises including failing a test to losing a prized privilege. Reading this series will have  great impact on your life with helping you become less “all about you” to more “I’m thankful for how my life turned out.” Bottom line, this plot has a great purpose which includes both a helpful moral, but also an adventurous read!

Last, but certainly not least; Mockingjay! Mockingjay begins where the past book was left off. Personally, this helped me remember what had happened in the former book, because it legitimately started at the exact same scene as the last on concluded with. Oddly, the Hunger Games close did not flow into Catching Fire’s opening, which confused me on an immense amount of levels. There certainly is not much to say about the topic of a books “flow” but, quite frankly, I prefer series that tie together from book to book. Basically what my point is, is that if you're the kind of reader that prefers a sort of flow from book to book, then check out what these books have in store!

The eminent plot line, author's description, and distinguished flow from book to book will allow you to know what is feels like to have to support your family, know how to survive, and having the luck of the draw. When uncertain about what to read take into consideration a thrilling tale of life and death, love and war, family and friends, Peeta and Katniss, with the Hunger Games trilogy! It will have you reading from beginning to end!

Everything Happens For a Reason

Author's Note: You know how sometimes you say why me! Seriously-- why me! Well this quote says it all.I thought this quote was very inspirational. I decided to write on it because it is very true with everybody; it doesn't pertain to just one person! Enjoy!

First line-- “Someday everything will all make perfect sense.” When a beloved family member dies does it about break your heart? of course! but its all adding up to you having a great life.
Second line-- “So for now laugh at the confusion”, If you’re confused about why something sad happened don’t necessarily laugh at it but don’t just live the rest of your life like “Why did that happen to me, me? Why not that person sitting over there?” Just think of something else!
Third line-- “Smile through the tears” This line is basically saying don’t spend your whole life crying otherwise you won’t be happy. it’s saying when something terrible happens like your dog has to be put down, don’t spend every night crying, think happy thoughts and if that doesn’t work have one of your friends get your mind off of it and help you cheer up.
Fourth line-- “And keeping reminding yourself that  everything happens for a reason.” When you get a bad grade it just means you need more work on the subject or topic. When you don’t get front row for a dance, it just means you need work. when you don’t win a game it just means you need more practice. You got my point!? When you get better at all of those things it shows that it happened for a reason. Case closed!

Sunsets

Author's Note: I love sunsets, and to me they're inspirational to write about so I chose to write about them!Enjoy!

Livin' On a Prayer

Author's Note: I had to motivation to write this piece from Mr. Graf's example with Have a Nice Day. I think this was a great experience because when I used to listen to music I would just listen and this really helped me understand the point of the song. You should trying writing a piece like this- it's a great experience!

Once upon a time
Not so long ago

Tommy used to work on the docks (USED TO= Bad economy- lost job)
Unions been on strike (Citizens don’t like their bosses)
He’s down on his luck. . . it’s  tough, so tough (Tough times- luck is not on his side)
Gina works the diner all day (Trying to make the best of living as she can)
Working for her man, she brings home her pay For love- for love (Trying to help support her “man”)

She says we’ve got to hold on to what we’ve got (Staying Positive through this tough time)
Cause it doesn’t make a difference If we make it of not (Money doesn’t matter their happiness does)
We’ve got each other and that’s a lot For love- well give it a shot (Just try to get through it but if we don’t it’s okay)

Wooah we’re half way there (We’re making progress- keep going)
Livin on a prayer (Trust that praying will help)
Take my hand and we’ll make it- I swear (Trust me- we can do it if we work together)
Livin on a prayer (trust that praying will help)

Tommy’s got his six string in hock (wasn’t making enough money- had to sell guitar to earn more money)

Gina dreams of running away (times are so tough she can’t handle it anymore)
When she cries in the night Tommy whispers baby it’s okay, someday (She’s depressed and tommy’s trying to help her through it)

We’ve got to hold on to what we’ve got (no need to sell your stuff just keep working
Cause it doesn’t make a difference If we make it or not(Money doesn’t matter their happiness does)
We’ve got each other and that’s a lot For love - well give it a shot(Just try to get through it but if we don’t it’s okay)

Livin on a prayer (trust that praying will help)

We’ve got to hold on ready or not (whether or not you were prepared just fight through it
You love for the fight when it’s all that you’ve got (keep fighting through no matter how tough it is)

Wooah we’re half way there (We’re making progress- keep going)
Livin on a prayer (Trust that praying will help)
Take my hand and we’ll make it- I swear (Trust me- we can do it if we work together)
Livin on a prayer (trust that praying will help)

A day in the life of perfume!

Author's Note: I had the idea of writing this piece because of many TV shows I've seen where there was a bad situations and the character woke up and it was all a dream. At first I was going to write about how the perfume got picked up off the shelf and take home and given to me, but then I decided to twist it up a bit and had it wake up from a dream and go on and adventure! Enjoy!

    “Nooooooooo!” I say annoyed.
    “What’s up Someday!?” Wonderstruck says.
Before I can reply I’m lifted up and carried to the check out counter.
“Someday! Where are you going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Wonderstruck shouts trying to talk to me.
I open my eyes slowly and scream, “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Oh, it was all a dream! Thank God!” The store is still dark and everything is still sleeping. “Hmmmmmmmm, what to do at 4 in the morning when I have no one else to talk to” I whisper to myself. “Huh! I know!” I hop off the shelf and roam the store. First I go into Abercrombie to check if the pants and bags are up, and still no one is up. Next I check out Hollister. “Oh God!” I run out before I pass out from the obnoxious scent of too much cologne. . .  or perfume. . . or what ever it is! I hop down the seeming endless center walkway and see the escalators start to move and then from behind me a light flips on and I quick turn around to make sure it’s still safe. I here an echoing yawn coming from each store which means one thing-- the stores opening and I’m half way down the mall I’ll never get home in time! I rush down the hall and see a foot, and another foot, and another one! “Nooooooooooo!” I start to rush even faster down the hall.
“Someday! Someday! Where are you Someday!?” I hear Wonderstruck looking for me. All of a sudden I see Wonderstruck hopping around trying to avoid people’s feet.
“Wonderstruck! Wonderstruck! Stay there! I’m coming!” I shout.
“Okay! Hurry! The crowd is getting huger by the minute!” Wonderstruck shouts.
“Okay! I’ll try!” I shout trying dive-bomb the feet of all the shoppers. I finally make it home and hop on the shelf and tell my friends of my adventurous journey!

What happens when you put Abby in a car playing her favorite music! :)

Author's Note: I love music so I convinced my writing circle to write about this! Enjoy!

“OMG! I love this song!” I crank up the radio. “Girl look at that body (Ahh), Girl look at that body (Ahh), Girl look at that body (Ahh)! I- I work out!”
“Turn that music down!” Shouts my mom over the booming music.
    “ WHAT?! I CAN’T HEAR YOU!” I yell.
My mom turns the music down “. . . I said. . . Turn that music down!”
“Oh. . . well. . .  whatever!” I turn the music up again and start dancing in my seat. “I’m sexy and I know it! I’m sexy and I know it!”
“Abigail Jean Laskowski! You are piercing my eardrums!” My mom complains.
“Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle, Yeah! Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle, Yeah! Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle,  Wiggle, Wiggle, Yeah! Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle, Yeah, Yeah!” I sing out my open car window.
“Thank goodness, that song’s over!” My mom says relieved.
“Oh my god! This is the most amazing song!” I scream when the song It Will Rain comes blaring out the speakers. “If you ever leave me baby! Leave some morphine at my door!”
    “Alright, this song’s okay. . . “ My mom says sighing. . . “We’re here! Come on let’s go!”
    I sadly sigh. “Okay. . . “

The Bieber Train

Author's Note:We couldn't decide on a topic so last minute one of my groups member decided the topic of Justin Bieber (who I love by the way!) and I didn't want to do the exact same thing every time so I did a quick little form of writing which was the train!

Author's Note: The reason I wrote about this is because I was reading a piece for the Modes of Literature and a joke between my mom concerning a TV line and I was just like "That's what we're writing about! I didn't want to write the same thing that I have so I made up a few songs with the lines put into them.

To the tune of Happy Birthday:
   - That’s what we calls it in Lon-dan; that’s what we calls it in Lon-dan; He was like blaa, la, la, la ello love, he was all blaa, la, feelings gone!
To the tune of Row your boat:
    - It’s, it’s funny cuz it is so-o gross, Wuh-pa, Left!, Pi-vot, I like your little braid!
To the tune of Twinkle Little Star:
    - Sal has that nice ring of hair, Laryr has those two good hips, people over 80 don’t answer on the first ring
Other funny TV lines that are already songs:
-Hey there, Locker, filled with my books and papers, and secrets. I can’t remember your combination! 37 right, 17 left, but then what!? Am I locked out, or are you locked in!? <cymbalring>
    - Zach kissed a gir-rl, Zach kissed a gir-rl, he issed a girl a female! A female! . . . Cake makes me crazy!
    - Happy Hanukkah, Monica. . . May your Christmas be snowy Joey! Merry Christmas Chandler and Ross! Spin the dreidel Rachel!
   - Went to the mall, sat on Santa’s lap, asked him to bring my friends all kinda crap! He said (Something, something) so just write them a song, you haven’t heard it yet, so don’t sing along, (no don’t sing along) Happy Hanukkah Monica. . . Saw Santa Claus, he says hello to Ross. . . Please tell Joey! Christmas will be Snow-way-ee-ee-ee! Rachel and Chandler have a happy, <unknown whispers> -andler!

Busy, busy bee!

Author's note: My group and I were stuck on a topic to write about so we just chose what we were doing this weekend.

This weekend I was pretty busy. On Friday, there was a dance and once it ended two of my friends came over and we had a Twilight movie marathon. Then on Saturday after the two went home I was invited to see Breaking Dawn with Reynna and she also invited Jackie and Emilee. It was so fun! I really want to go a again. Then on Sunday my mom and I went to church and saw Peder Eide do a free Christmas concert. Once that had ended we went to the Fellowship hall to pack up gifts for less-fortunate children for Christmas. It was really fun because for two children I got to go to the table with their age group and pick out a specific number of gifts for them to get. I really hope they enjoy what I chose! We ended before they thought we would so we headed home. I just chilled and relaxed and worked on some homework for the rest of the night.

Twilight: Edward vs. Jacob!

Author's Note: This topic was chosen because everyone in our group enjoys Twilight so we thought we should place our opinions! ENJOY!

What kind of books are you interested in? Mystery? Action? Sci- Fi/ Fantasy type? I’m open to many genres of books and one of them is Sci- Fi. One of my absolute favorite Sci- Fi series has got to be the Twilight Series! Although they are about vampires and werewolves and they may sound cheesy to you, the way the books are written make them seem honestly, and this may sound strange, but the honestly seem real! I know, I know ‘Abby your crazy vampires can’t be really’. Well if you’ve ever read any of the Twilight books you’d know what I’m talking about. Now, with this introduction it may seem misleading about what I’m writing about so listen closely so your not TOO confused :) This seemingly real book is filled with personality filled characters and my favorite character has got to be Jacob. Jacob is a great character because of how much he cares about Bella, and he has good looks :)
Jacob is a great friend because he honestly cares about Bella. When Edward left Bella without prior warning and she needed someone to comfort her and hang out with she went to her long time friend Jake. He took her in and spent literally ever second of every day with her to try to get her mind off of Edward. Another component of how great of a friend Jacob Black is, is the fact that he cares about Bella’s future, not that he has to, but when she wanted to transform from a human to a vampire he explained why it wasn’t a good idea and tried to persuade her. He can’t control Bella and the plan didn’t quite turn out the way he wanted, but he truely cared about her so he tried to persuade her to the right choice. One more component that makes Jacob a truly  fantabulous friend is that when she’s having the little baby and it was ‘Crushing her from the inside out’ he started to LEGIT cry because he didn’t want her to die. How many 18 year old guys have you seen cry. . . about a friend. . . that’s a girl? NONE! He truly care about her! Case closed Jacob= best character ever! TEAM JACOB!

Christmas is almost here!

Author's Note: I'm really in the mood for Christmas so my group and I chose to write about Christmas!
Christmas
Christmas, Christmas everywhere
Christmas spirit in the air
Ho, Ho, Ho, and Mistletoe
And presents under the tree
Christmas
Ribbons and bows
With lights all a glow
And sweets and treats
For all to eat
Christmas
Ornaments and Sleighs
With Santa on his way
Stockings and Reindeer
help children spread cheer

A truly sensational book

Author's Note: I am in the middle of a very good series right now so that's what I decided to write about. . .  There's not much more to say! :)

If you could write your own book what would it be about? Princesses? Ninjas? A Little Coffee Mug that could? No matter what you choose all you need to make any book interesting are great ideas that are very well organized, detail that will blow the reader’s mind, and word choice that excels anything that’s humanly possible. Two books that come to mind with those qualities are The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. These two books will have you on the edge of you seat because of the well organized ideas, mind-blowing detail, and what seems to be humanly impossible word choice.
Both "The Hunger Games" and "Catching Fire" are well organized into three parts. With this feature it really helps you understand what is going on on each page in each chapter of each part. Another component of this well organized book is how the dialogue is set up. Many books start with telling you who’s talking and finishes with them assuming that you know who’s talking. Now I know if I’m reading a book like that when I’m done with the piece of dialogue I have to go back and say to myself “Okay, so it’s Katniss now Peeta now Haymitch now Peeta again,” and it just wastes time! So my point is that "Catching Fire" and "The Hunger Games" have very well organized dialogue.
The detail is just exquisite! When you’re getting really into the book you’re reading and you start to picture it in your head- well with these books it’s like the actual movie is in your head! Instead of you deciding what Peeta looks like you know what he looks like because of the detail. Where the hunger games exist in the arena isn’t just guessed as a forest-y area it’s thoroughly explained as one. Bottom line; the detail in "The Hunger Games" and "Catching Fire’s" unbelievable detail helps make the book come to life!
The word choice-- it’s just. . . so amazing! I, not trying to brag, but I have a pretty high level of word choice and a good chunk of the words in that book I don’t even know the meaning of! Some examples of high level word choice include deceptively, smoldering, and drastic. Huh? See what I mean!? Imagine what the word choice in "Mockingjay" will be like! Tying in with detail- without excellent word choice there would be not exquisite detail. If I were to write a sentence like 'The dog is black'- BORING! With high level word choice that boring sentence could turn from <snore> to 'The annoying dog that won’t stop barking is a mysterious shade of midnight black,' and that’s exactly what the words in "The Hunger Games  and Catching Fire"  are like.
The well organized ideas, mind-blowing detail, and the word choice that seems humanly impossible will have you on the edge of your set while reading "The Hunger Games" and "Catching Fire." If you’re looking for a book that will have you continuing to read without stopping these definitely books to take a peek at.

A Great Country

Author's Note: I'm very proud of my country, and that's what inspired me to write about this topic. You may not have the same view as I did, but I hope this will help you understand how proud I am of my country!

Why are you proud of your country? There are so many reasons why the U.S. is such a great country. I am proud of my country because of its brave and giving citizens and the struggles it’s overcome.
So many people think that service men and women are the bravest people in our country, and don’t get me wrong, I think they’re brave, but what about police officers and firefighters? Cops chase drunk drivers, catch criminals, and deal with other dangerous tasks. Firefighters obviously fight fires, but they also help the ambulance out when people are in need, and handle other life-threatening responsibilities. Service men and women go overseas and help to defend our country while risking their lives at the same time! All these tasks include people who put their lives on the line for others, and those are true heroes. Our country is not only full of brave people, but also giving. Charities that have been started to raise money for diseases are donated to everyday, and those are giving people, people who give away their things for people who are in need.
Our country has put up with many struggles and fortunately pulled itself out of the rubble that was left behind. The worst of those days, without a doubt, was September 11, 2011, the day tragedy struck. Our country was attacked, and an immense amount of people helped to protect the country and injured victims. One person that comes to mind is Welles Crowther, otherwise known as “The Man with the Red Bandana.” His story has touched nearly every soul in America because of his astonishing bravery. He risked his life for others and ended up saving about a dozen people. That’s a great example of brave citizens in America. Although Welles passed saving other victims, he will be remembered for his braveness, kindness, and love for his country and its citizens.
The brave citizens, struggles that have been overcome, and great people that live here are what make me proud of my country.  This country, no matter what it’s nationally ranked, is on the top of my list for being the best home anyone could ask for.
